Geraldine Williams, 1920 - 2010

Geraldine Williams, 89 of Battiest passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at her home in Battiest. She was born, July 7, 1920 in Battiest, the daughter of Jesse and Effie (Davis) Walden.

Geraldine was a member of the Silver Creek Church of Christ in Pickens. She helped manufacture aircraft at Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa during WWII. She was an avid Battiest Sports Activity fan, and she enjoyed quilting.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Williams who passed away in 1983, her parents, Effie and Jesse Walden; a brother, John Preston Walden, two sisters Abis Werkeau and Celeste Wells.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Dwayne and Paula Williams of Stuttgart, AR, Mike and Giela Williams of Redland community, five grandchildren, Shannon Renee McCarty and husband Scott, Travis Christopher Williams, Jay Martin and Wife Lindsey, Justin Martin and wife Misty, and Aaron Williams, seventeen great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends; special adopted grandchildren, Hannah and Kayle Axton.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Silver Creek Church of Christ in Pickens, OK with interment to follow in the Battiest Cemetery. Wayne Talbot and Rodney Watson will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Silver Creek Church of Christ.
